The first half of July has been blessed with great fishing and good weather.  2 days were lost to big seas at the end of last week but it was almost a welcome break after fishing 31 days in row.   A little rest did me some good.  With salmon season closed until yesterday we had been focusing on Lost Coast rockfish, lingcod and halibut and the action was awesome.  Yesterday we opened back up for kings and were greeted with big fish, close to home.  We knocked out easy limits of salmon today within spitting distance of the Humboldt Bay entrance.  Top fish was a thick bodied 27 pounder and the average size was awesome.  July and August are always a couple of my favorite months and this year’s are on track to be epic.
